History

U.S.A BASSIN got its start in 2003 when Indiana firefighter, Kevin Yeary, observed that the fishing industry was lacking affordable and family-friendly tournament trails. As the economy moved through several small recessions, fewer anglers were spending their extra income on competitive fishing. U.S.A. BASSIN was created around a simpler idea: spend less, fish more, and win more.

At the start, the organization had 60 members across three states. By 2005, it reached the 500 mark and operated in five states. Two years later, growth climbed to 1,500 members and 280 events in nine states. That momentum continued through 2009 with more than 3,400 members and over 500 events in 17 states.

U.S.A. BASSIN continues to invite anglers of all experience levels to be part of the excitement. Through local and national partnerships, the trail keeps building more opportunities for anglers to compete, have fun, and win prizes throughout the season.
